<p style="text-align:justify">Even though cells should be cultured without the addition of antibiotics or antifungal drugs, Cell culture media are not only a perfect breeding ground for your cell culture but also for many contaminants, such as bacteria and fungi. In certain cases the addition of antibiotics is necessary (for unique cell lines or to remove already existing contamination).  The OKT3 monoclonal antibody reacts with an epitope located on the ε chain of the CD3 complex. The human CD3 antigen is present on mature human T cells, thymocytes, and NKT cells. Clone OKT3 has been shown to activate T cell function.  In vitro, treatment of anti-CD3 stimulated T cells with PD-L1-Ig results in reduced T cell proliferation and IFN-γ secretion. Monoclonal antibodies targeting PD-1 that boost the immune system are being developed for the treatment of cancer.</p>
